About Us

Joanna is a senior at Lexington High School, the founder of Weebond Academy, and a teacher at Diyi Education company, where she taught courses in SSAT prep, high school application workshops,  as well as  English classes while developing extensive training in essay editing and curriculum designing.     

Joanna has a strong background in creative and academic writing.   She scored 5 in AP  English & AP Literature,  published both creative and academic work, and is also an Editor of The Musket, Lexington High School's Newspaper. 

  Joanna is a 2023 Scholastic Awards National medalist. Her work has been recognized by the New York Times, the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, and the National Poetry Quarterly. 

 As a creative, enthusiastic, and diligent entrepreneur/writer who empowers students to flourish through innovative learning,  Joanna coordinates large teams of student volunteers (30-40+), speaks at large-scale events (200+ people), and writes for publications and contests in various genres.  Her passion for writing led her to provide others the same outlet, mentor younger writers, and help them find their voices. In her free time, Joanna likes to sing, dance, draw,  and chase chickens. 

Mimi is a freshman at Northwestern University. She was a tutor at Immigrant Family Services Institute (a non-profit organization) for two semesters as well as a TA at KTByte Computer Academy for one semester. 

Mimi is the Head TA/ teacher at Diyi Education  Company. She is also the co-founder of her school’s coding club and participates in both the creative writing club and independent novel writing class at her school.  Mimi attended the selective  Beaver Works Summer Institute offered by MIT. She is also a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist.

When she has free time, she likes to read, play games, and pet her cat.

Gracie graduated from Yale University majoring in History. She is a skilled writer with years of experience writing research papers, primary source analysis, and literary essays. In high school, she served as the Editor-in-chief of D.C. L.A.W, earned a 5 on the AP Comparative Literature exam, and achieved perfect scores on the ACT reading and language tests.

Gracie has extended experience tutoring both individuals and groups from 4th -12th grade. She has taught individual ACT/SAT reading and writing preparation as well as group and individual writing and reading comprehension up to the pre-collegiate level. Additionally, she has experience writing curriculum ranging from 5th to 11th grade to ACT/SAT prep, and to AP/College writing prep. She has also mentored students throughout the college application process including editing application essays.

Amara is a senior at Arlington Catholic High School. She is a native Chinese speaker and is fluent in both English and Chinese.  

She is passionate about Chinese literature and puts a lot of energy into it. She is able to think, express, and share Chinese literature from a unique native’s perspective. She mentors students in Chinese reading and writing. In her spare time, she likes to play tennis and photography. 

 Katie is a sophomore at Lexington High School. Katie received two Scholastic Writing Gold Keys and is the founder of Parenthesis Writing, where she hosts week-long summer camps teaching creative writing. 

Katie is also strong in science: she was a member of Clarke’s school team, where she won a national 4th place medal for Meteorology and placed top 8 at Science Bowl regionals. Finally, Katie is passionate about helping in the school community. She served as a student leader and organizer for Clarke’s Tree-Plenish event, is part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Student Advisory Council for LPS (where she discussed curriculum with school departments to promote DEI values), and is a recipient of the Lexington Public Schools Core Value Award.  

 James Dong is a senior at Lawrence Academy. He has been tutoring students in science and English for two years and has served as a history leader with GYP (Global Youth Philanthropy Organization).

 James is actively involved in sports and plays for the varsity basketball and tennis teams, often representing LA to participate in various competitions in the Independent School League. In addition, he is also the president of the Chess and Physics clubs. When not studying or playing sports, James likes mountain biking, listening to music, and playing piano.  

Coco is a sophomore at Northfield Mount Hermon, a classical singer, and a passionate STEAM learner. She has extensive music and vocal experience as the vice president of her school choir, a soprano in the New England Conservatory Youth Chorale, and a Finalist at the Music International Grand Prix. In her free time, Coco enjoys reading Freakonomics, writing for her school’s newspaper, and learning Python, Java, and other computer languages. 

 Wendy Shen is a sophomore at Lexington Christian Academy. She currently tutors underprivileged children in English. Wendy is passionate about science and ranks top 7 at the Olympiad state event. Wendy involves in cross country during the fall and placed top 6 for her school JV in NEPSAC (New England Prep School Athletics Conference). In her free time, Wendy listens to music and plays badminton.
